Get Happy, Write Away!: Turn Your Dreams Into Realities

Rainy Days and Mondays

Good Morning World! It’s a rainy day and a Monday and NO, they don’t always get me down.

If you don’t remember the tune, “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down…” Karen Carpenter made it a huge hit in a music duo with her brother Richard. “The Carpenters” had a bunch of gold records in a short number of years and Karen passed away from complications due to anorexia. It seems that early in her musical career a critic said that she would be really hot if she lost her baby fat and from then on she starved herself to death. Sad story. Karen Carpenter had, perhaps, the most beautiful voice in the world.

Life is precious and I place value on every day. The seasons come and go and the years pass quickly. Our time here is limited. Make the most of every day and live your life as if there is no tomorrow. I don’t mean be wild and crazy.

Take the time to tell your loved ones that you love them. Take time to stop and soak in the beauty of the world around you. Take time to enjoy the simple pleasures that you take for granted. Take time to daydream. Set plans for tomorrow and the future and fulfill them.

I rise at 2:00 AM on an average morning. I make my coffee. I fire up the Dell laptop and check e-mail, then write a blog entry. The world is still at rest. When I head for the office, it is still dark. My mornings are filled with contemplation and I visualize the events ahead of me. This is time for study and for the Law of Attraction. This is the time to appreciate the people I love and the life I chose.

Today is a rainy day, a Monday. It is the start of another week, a rainy week. I will make the most of it.

  • Hi, I read your blog on my Google Reader and as a fellow cyclist and ukulele player always find your post fascinating BUT when I noticed that you rise each morning at 2.00am it made me stop in my tracks!!

Isnt’ that the middle of the night? I get up each morning at 6.30 to go to the gym but 2.00am seems really early. Can I ask what time you go to bed?

    :-)

    Colin

  • Cool, a cyclist ukulele player. They’re my favorite sort of people. :)

I am typically in bed no later than 9:00 PM during the week. I do some of my most creative work in the morning before sunrise. The world is still asleep and there are few, if any, distractions. I have two or three cups of coffee (drink it for the flavor) and start writing.
